Great Western Railway Paddington Band
In 1855 outside the Station Masters Cottage, on his
Lawn the Band played Christmas Music.
The Band Performed in June 1860 for the Railway
Widows and Orphans Fund FĂȘte in Hungerford.
On 1 October 1910 the Great Western Railway and
Paddington Borough Prize Silver Band
took part in the National Brass Band Championships
at the Crystal Palace, playing Gems of
Schubert arranged by William Rimmer,
coming 8th out of 15 Bands.
In 1923 The Great Western Railway Staff Military Band
was established.
Great Western Railway (1948) when the railways were
Nationalised to become British Railways Western Region
and during the 1990s was privatised to become
Network Rail and Great Western Railway.
